This is Gordon, our new 6 year old rescue cat. As you can probably tell, he is a chunky chap who has been residing with the SPCA for some time. He seems to have made a big impression at the SPCA, with several of the employees 'vetting' us before we took him away!! He was lovely and friendly and headbutty. There was some serious yowling on the way home in the car and he has been hiding behind the sofa/under a wardrobe since he arrived. However, I'm sure he'll calm down soon enough. This picture is from the SPCA website, where he has been 'Cat of the Week'. Doesn't do him justice, though - he's very handsome!!Have a very Happy New Year.

Gordon is very handsome and I'm very jealous! Although my campaign to get a cat of our own is gaining momentum ... Carol (Uncle Peter's partner) has cats and said that they never scatch leather sofas - so there's hope for us yet. We've even been offered the chance to cat sit for a week to test the waters (or should that be a capital W for Waters!) he he.
I'm sure Gordon will settle in quickly and stop hiding soon.
