We're coming into the end of our first Kiwi Christmas Eve. The fridge is full of food for tomorrow - from the fish market, the french patissarie and two local vineyards (one for red, one for sparkly). Our new bbq is sat outside on the deck, along with the table and chairs. I think everything's all ready for tomorrow.
We spent most of today on a beach about 30 mins down the road from home. The sand was almost too hot to walk on - we had to scamper down to the sea. The sea was a little tame but there were a few breakers to play in so we had a good time. Stopped in a local vineyard for lunch, called Soljan Estate, which was set up by a guy from Dubrovnik about 2 generations ago. Interesting kiwi-croat menu.
Oh, and met our neighbours again today - the mum and little girl came round and gave us a bottle of wine all wrapped up, which was really sweet. So we took them round some mince pies and had a little visit and it was all very nice.
Merry Christmas everyone!
