Change #1

So, Will got his project finished and managed to sell it to the big cheeses. So we have been having a bit more fun.

Last weekend was Christmas Party time for Will's work do. Lots of fun had by all, and met lots of nice people.

Then Will had his Christmas lunch on Waiheke Island yesterday, and managed to obtain a million invitations for the Christmas hols - Wakeboarding up North, Surfing up North, Dinners, Barbies, more social engagements than you can shake a stick at.

We have had some really good pressies from the Deloitte partners - a Learn About NZ pack for the new migrants - useful info books, guides etc, and a nice picnic bag for everyone for Christmas that was full of food :) We're easily pleased!!

I have made a decision about work, and have decided to cut my losses and leave. It has become obvious that to do the job that I want to I'd have to change a culture that refuses to be changed. The number of times that I have heard 'If you want to be happy here you just have to accept that this is how it is' is increasing and change is not an option. I have also realised that I will have impossible tasks thrown at me at every turn and have my life made very difficult by people who just don't care.

So, Monday is resignation day. And it feels like a weight off my shoulders!! Apart from the difficult meeting bit.

So, now I get to think about what to do next and try to find something that fits me a bit better.

Will and I have been off looking at where we might move to next. And doing a bit of rollerblading round the expensive bits of Auckland.

Hope you are all well,
Kxx
