Party and Farewell Tour!!

Well, where do I start with the Party?!! What a night!!!

The Venue: Nice bar in Trafalgar Square with an excellent cocktail menu!!!

The People: So many people!!! Fantastic to see so many friends and family there.

The Event: Well, we started off with drinks and hellos and photos that I had put together of our life here and travels to the Pacific and NZ. And more and more people turned up. Then there was some suspicious lurking - people disappearing up the stairs and being forbidden to enter the back part of the bar!! Then everyone disappeared into the back and we were restrained by Martin (Will's Dad) until we were summoned. And there was an enormous cake (not a party without cake!!) that had been snuck in by Emily and Hannah. I will take a moment to describe the cake! A topographical map of NZ with mountains, rivers, glaciers and cities marked. In the sea (Tasman and Pacific) there were good wishes from everyone. Oh, and it was the wickedest chocolate cake EVER on the inside!!
And then there were the speeches - lovely words from Ben, responded to by me (after one or two or three cocktails).
And it didn't stop there!! Emily presented us with a book containing good wishes from people at the party and emails etc. I understand that all Blog invitees were well aware of this before we were as Emily hijacked the Cc list and emailed you all. FANTASTIC!!!

And then back to Ben and Em's for Guitar Hero, Karaoke and much hilarity.

The Farewell Tour: Starting with a trip to a farm mansion in Zummerzet, we saw Dob, drank zyder and hiked the Blackdown Hills. Then on to the Quantock Hills for more walking and to Bristol on moving house deliveries. Stayed with my brother and his girlfriend and ate posh Cotswold Thai. Then on to see my Mum and more possession relocation and tea. Then on to Telford to see some more friends and new baby. And then home. And the cake came too (until it was all gone!!)
